Torreys Peak 14,267’

Hi There!! Okay, so we have done this peak before... In fact, it was the second peak we ever climbed together like 3 years ago... But this time, we took a different route that incorporated more climbing than hiking. It was pretty fun! The route is called the Kelso ridge, and this first shot is looking back down on the ridge from where we started. We came up the ridge at about the middle of this picture and then, started hiking up. This is just another view of the ridge from a different area.
This picture was taken from near the top at the "knife edge". It's not sharp, though :)!

So, this is me near the knife edge.
HI!!! Don't I look cool???
So, as you can see, there are plenty of people around. The white rock is the last "climbing" before you get to the top. Yes, the top is there on the left. Another view.....
Here's another closeup of me.
This picture is taken from the top of Torreys Peak looking at Grays Peak (another 14er) that we did about 3 years ago when we first did Torreys. We won't be doing it again today. We've done it, and the route is not as exciting as the one we just did. Plus, TONS of people do these 2 mountains, so it's a major traffic jam!! If you click on this picture to make it bigger, you can see all the little stick people standing at the top!!
So, here we are at the top!!
On our way down, we spotted these mountain goats in the valley. NEAT!!
So, this is taken from the saddle between Grays and Torreys. Torreys Peak is on the left, and the ridge that we hiked up.
Another view of that ridge.
This was actually the first picture we took when starting the hike. That is Torrey's in the background and the Kelso ridge we climbed/hiked.
Yes, I know these are out of order, but here is another picture of me climbing up near the top. Well, until next weekend..... love and peace to all :)!

San Luis 14,014'

View from the top! Now, this is cool - this is Wetterhorn, Matterhorn and Uncompahgre from the top of San Luis....
Here we are at the top - Usually there is at least one other person - but we had the top all to ourselves... It was WINDY - My hat kept blowing off!
For most of the trail we followed Stewart creek to essentially the end of this valley before going up the ridge to San Luis... We climbed up the other side of this mounatain ridge that you see here...
This is taken at the trailhead where we spent the night before hiking the next morning...

Here is Shawn standing before the valley we just hiked up
Here is me at the same location on the ridge, but looking the other direction and pointing to the top of San Luis.... Lots of "mini" summits before you actually make it to San Luis summit....
View from the Top!!
That's it for San Luis... This was another long one... About 12 miles... Until next time :)!

Uncompahgre Peak 14,309'

From the Top! This is looking at Wetterhorn from Uncompahgre.... The one we did yesterday...
More views from the top...

Here we are at the top! YAY!! This is the tallest one we have done this year!

Not a cloud in the sky!!!
Here it is again... That's Shawn in the distance...
Looking through the "windows" of the mountains' ridge of Uncompahgre...
Can you see Wetterhorn? Windy, eh?
This is cool - even though the picture is fuzzy... We got up early to start this hike, because it was like 13 miles roundtrip, and we saw deer on this ridge in the shadows during sunrise... It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen! Good job to Shawn for spotting them first!
The end - for Uncompagre anyway... :)!
