Kitty Kat Carson 13,980', Columbia Point 13,980', Kit Carson 14,165', and Challenger Point 14,081'

HI everybody!! We have already gone about 2 miles at this point. This is the ridge we are taking to get to our first mountain. The Crestone Peak is in the background. View of the ridge
Another great pic of the crestones! Remember, we did these this year too... search on Crestone if you want to look at that hike again.
I can't remember what this is. Maybe Shawn will let me know...
Our friend Dave.
We just finished that ridge and now we have to walk around this mountain in front of us to get to the mountain behind it which is our first destination... Kitty Kat Carson Peak!
Another view of the Crestones (behind us at the same spot as above)

Our first glimpse of Kit Carson Peak... It is very pretty!

Looking back from the top of Kitty Kat
A view of Kit Carson
Where we have to go....
This is Kat Karson... Renamed Columbia Point in memory of the Crew of the Columbia space shuttle. The picture is fuzzy, but it is a nice plaque.
Almost there....
Here we are at the top!

Now we have to go down, to go back up... This is Dave.
Lots of fun ahead...

Here I am almost to the top of Kit Carson...
This is the lake and click on this pic and make it bigger you can see the waterfall. This is where we camped when we tried this last time, but ended up turning back because of weather. We came a different way this time, so we could do it in one day.
View of the Crestones from the top.
Dave almost to the top.
Shawn and I at the top of Kit Carson!
One last peak to go... This is Kit Carson avenue and it will take us to Challenger point. It's the best avenue I've ever been on. It was probably about a mile away...

And here is the plaque on the top of Challenger point in memory of the crew of the Challenger Space Shuttle.
Looking at Kit Carson from Challenger Point.
And here we are at the top...
Well, this is the last of the mountain hiking/climbing pics of the season. As most of you know, I have started my Marathon training. I will include pics from time to time about happenings... so be sure to check back!! Have a great one!!!
